Aug 22 2007 :: Restricted feedback coming soon

Based on the concern expressed by some merchants that competitors may submit erroneous feedback, the SiteTrust Network will soon enable members to select between restricted and unrestricted feedback. This feature will come into action sometime next week.

When restricted feedback is turned on, visitors will have to input a feedback code (as chosen by you) in order to submit feedback. You can provide the code to your customers through email correspondence and/or your member's area. This enables you to restrict feedback submissions to those who have made a purchase from you in the past. The restricted feedback code can be changed at any time in the merchant account area.

When restricted feedback is turned off, any visitor to your site and to our network will be able to submit feedback. This is the default setting, and it will apply to all current merchant sites. Starting next week, all new applicants will have the ability to select a setting, while existing merchants will be able to change the setting in the Merchant Area.

You will be able toggle on and off this setting at any time by logging into the Merchant Area and selecting View Details next to your site name. This setting will only apply for merchants that have visitor feedback turned on. Let us know if you have any questions.

Aug 21 2007 :: RSS feeds in development

RSS feeds are now in development. These will enable merchants to use RSS technology to display validated customer feedback direclty on their site. This feature will provide an alternative to the direct feedback feeds which use iframes. The RSS feeds are designed for advanced users who wish to take full control over the display of feedback on their website.

More details regarding the RSS feeds will be provided once set up is complete.

Various extensions have been made to the merchant help center. The extensions cater for the addition of new features such as the downloadable shopping cart modules.

Aug 09 2007 :: osCommerce site seal module available for download

An osCommerce site seal module is now available for download. The module enables osCommerce shop owners to display a SiteTrust Network seal on either the left or right column. More osCommerce modules will be added over time.

Aug 08 2007 :: Zen Cart modules available for download

Three Zen Cart modules have been created and are now available to download. These modules enable Zen Cart shop owners to integrate SiteTrust Network seals and feedback feeds into their stores.

There are three modules available:

SiteTrust Feedback

Creates a page to display your SiteTrust Network feedback directly on your store

SiteTrust Sidebox

Enables you to display a sidebox that contains the SiteTrust Network seal as well as optional text

SiteTrust Seal

Enables you to display a SiteTrust Network seal in a store side column, but without a surrounding sidebox.

Aug 01 2007 :: New Merchant Help Center

Due to the burgeoning collection of features available to merchants, a Merchant Help Center has been created. It can be reached by logging into the merchant area and clicking on Help Center. The help section provides an overview of the merchant account features along with a selection of 'How To' articles.

Jul 30 2007 :: Custom Feedback Submission Message

A new tool has been added to the Merchant account area. It enables merchants to display a custom message to visitors after they have submitted feedback. The message can provide a coupon or promotional code as a reward to the customer. To keep things fair and transparent, the custom message is displayed to the customer regardless of the feedback rating submitted.

A new feature has been added that enables merchants to submit responses to feedback submitted by their customers. This is particularly helpful if you feel a customer has been unreasonable. View an example here.
